That coastal café feel with delicious food and generous hospitality.
Our family-owned and operated Sunshine Coast café prides itself on using fresh ingredients prepared in-house. We take great care in crafting our cakes and coffee, which we serve with warmth and hospitality. If you’re in the area, take a leisurely walk along Pacific Boulevard or La Balsa Park, and then stop by for a delicious meal or coffee. We’re known for our specialty One on La Balsa coffees.
You can park easily and have a designated safe area for bicycles where you can keep an eye on them while you dine. If you have a family outing planned, bring a picnic rug, and we’ll pack up your food to go so you can enjoy it in the park. Just remember to return your plates and utensils once you’re finished. Moms, this means no messy clean-up to worry about!
Our aim is to ensure that you not only love our food but also feel welcome and at ease. We are committed to making your visit an inviting, warm and comfortable experience while you sit back to enjoy time with friends or family.
No matter how you arrive at our café, we are committed to making your experience unforgettable.
About the owners
In 2002, Jeff and Dani discovered the Sunshine Coast while travelling around Australia. They were immediately in love with Buddina and saw the potential for a café on the river. When the opportunity arose to build and operate One on La Balsa, they enthusiastically seized it. Since opening on October 30th, 2007, they have never looked back. Running the café has allowed them to work alongside their daughters, Brittany, Hayley, and Kelly, who share their passion for the café life. Dani loves surfing, coffee, and her two dogs, while Jeff is a Surf Lifesaving champion and like Dani, also enjoys catching a good wave.
